DECOY INK at The Fridge

Posted by Joshua Yospyn | July 12, 2010

If you missed the opening, Thursday 6-10pm is your last chance to catch DECOY INK at The Fridge DC.  Southeast DC has plenty to offer that night, including an Art Open House and cap it all off by watching Rudy on the riverfront.  In between all the action, stop by Good Stuff Eatery for another work of art: Spike Mendelsohn’s toasted marshmellow shake.  I’m constantly reminding myself there’s four quadrants to Washington.  While Dupont Circle is home, Barracks Row is one of those neighborhoods I can’t get enough of.

I stopped by The Fridge a few weeks after DECOY’s opening and visited with Alex Goldstein, director of the gallery.  His two dogs ran around the studio floor while he explained the history behind some of the paintings and silkscreens hanging inside.  He also told me The Fridge will have a BORF show on September 11. You might remember BORF from the tagging of an overhead sign on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge that got him arrested and in the Washington Post.  He’s also part of a growing list of street artists finding their way onto Wikipedia.  Wikipedia hates BORF?

Enjoy a few images of what you can expect on Thursday but make sure to check it out for yourself.  Did someone say temporary tattoos?Alex 12
