Many thanks to Brandon, Francisco and Peter with No Kings Collective and also ReadySetDC for inviting us to participate in Activation 440 on Friday and Saturday night. Great job guys. The party’s over and the portrait studio dismantled, but the artwork on all four floors will be hanging in the building for a couple weeks, so please contact us if you’d like to visit 440 Rhode Island, aka the Josephine. Also thanks to everyone who purchased the print edition of Worn Magazine. If you missed the event, Worn is available for purchase in stores across Northwest. Your support will fund our fall edition and keep this blog rolling.

I ended up photographing 92 total people during Activation. The first night was a bit challenging, as I shot 55 people over five hours in an 83-degree room. But the air conditioning kicked in Saturday night and I took it easy, perhaps too much so because I still have five sheets of film left. For you camera hounds, everything below was taken with a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II with a 110mm lens and a Polaroid back for 3.25″ X 4.25″ instant film. This isn’t standard 600 speed Polaroid film, which you can find now through The Impossible Project, it’s Fuji FP-100B, which is a black-and-white pack film generally used with medium or large format film cameras and sold on B&H Photo for around $10. It’s very reliable and the color packs are just as fun, but I’ve never been able to do transfers with it.
Thanks to all who participated, just click on the thumbnails below to view full size. I will do this again, differently.

Man….it sucks to have missed this, but you did a great job. Tracy looks fresh out of prison. And my favorites by far are: 33/93, 47/93, and 71/93. Lovely work.
