Andrew Wodzianski Lives in a Box on U Street, Part 2
Posted by Joshua Yospyn | May 4, 2010
As a follow up to my first photo story on Andrew Wodzianski, I visited the final resting place of his box-like domicile on Saturday night at Longview Gallery during the Cultural Development Corporation’s Pop-up Gala. Since April 18th, Andrew has been questioning the distance between reality and fiction inside a very public 100-square-foot living space (that dimensional fact courtesy of an exceptional article by Maura Judkis in the Washington City Paper). The space was packed up and moved from U Street to the gallery on Friday.
We found several interesting things at Longview Gallery, so make sure to see the entire post. But first, congratulations to the artist.

In photography, the blur between reality and fiction creates more than outstanding bokeh. It breathes new life into my images. And in the case of Andrew’s Red Cross lapel, it helps me see something I would’ve otherwise missed (I also like his tie).

Keep your eyes peeled to the blog for more photographs of this anonymous Marvin man.

Nicole and I were nabbed by BrightestYoungThings, sort of.

I was equally astonished by the crepe and ice cream bar.

Dan of Fight Club (reference this gallery). Unfortunately, Fight Club is shutting down and he was in the process of moving to Northeast DC. Dan’s been a fixture in Blagden Alley for years and lived in various locations around the neighborhood. Fight Club is actually in Wikipedia.

ha. What a terribly unflattering shot of me.
It was nice to meet you, Josh.
