Dupont Circle: Look and Listen, Part 4
Posted by Joshua Yospyn | April 21, 2010
I ran into these English students from Gabon again yesterday. We watched a man wearing sunglasses, spandex and headphones bunny hop his giant mountain bike up and down the Dupont Circle fountain, then ride around popping wheelies, completely oblivious to everyone nearby. It was the same tricks I did on my BMX bike when I was 10. Anyway, just one example why I like to relax here. Free and unexpected entertainment.
This coordinated pair is wearing something I’m starting to see a lot of: Headphones from Dr. Dre by Monster. I see the “b” on ears all over town. How’s the sound quality? I’m not sure, but maybe this California Love line by Dre is a hint, “The track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest.” Hmm, sounds more powerful than my Sony earbuds. But what about this pair? Sound off, readers.

I just picked up a pair of Dr. D’s Beats Tour High Resolution In-Ear Headphones, my playlist consist of Minimal, Techno (German Branded), House, Hip-Hop and Experimental Jazz – the sound on these babies is out of this world.
my bike is a 17″ frame with 26″ inch wheels. pretty standard, not giant.
a bmx (bicycle motocross) bike usually has just a rear brake to cut weight…so you prolly had a freestyle bike if you were doing endos.
you must have been good when you were 10.
freestylers don’t trick stairs or obstacles. trials riding is cross-training for xc and is the most technical cycling there is.
i wore a lululemon shirt and fox racing shorts. no spandex.
i am oblivious when i do trials. i just zone out on the tricks. it’s my time.
Adam – I was decent, but you are way better. Thanks for the details and corrections, I’ll be looking for you on the circle this summer.
