Up Close with DECOY
Posted by Joshua Yospyn | March 24, 2010
In the hardcopy magazine one of our writers interviews local artist DECOY. Before our first of two portrait sessions to accompany the article, I emphasized, “bring the red hoodie.” Maybe it’s not the urban cosmo she wears so well at openings, but for me it’s a symbol of her painterly lifestyle. Artist first.
Side Note: This photographer recently bought a painting by another DC51 artist collective member, OWEL (pronounced “oh well”), at Luna Grill on Connecticut Avenue. Be like me, get an omelette and leave with a very affordable work of art from a nationally-recognized artist.
